Therapy
Sisters

Lisa’s
melodic guitar playing and Maurine’s fretless bass go together
like hallucinations and Haldol. Though accepted by no major medical
insurance, The Therapy Sisters continue to offer their musical mental
health care nationwide, reminding you that if you’re not part
of the problem, you’re not part of the Family. But if you
are one of the best-stressed people you know, let these regular
contributors to Dr. Demento introduce your tongue to your cheek
with the most affordable therapy in town.

Rebecca
Hall & Ken Anderson / Pamela Wynn Shannon

“New York
neo-folk ballad singer and writer Rebecca Hall has been winning
compliments from fellow musicians Laura Cantrell and even Roger
McGuinn for her updated take on mid-to-late 1960s pop/folk sounds.
Sunday Afternoon, her second album, recalls in style the acoustic
guitar and string arrangements heard first on Judy Collins' In My
Life, then on lusher turns from Leonard Cohen, and on Brit folk-rock
productions from Joe Boyd.” Barry Mazor, No Depression, March–April

Jan
Smith

Jan Smith's
‘traditional’ songs are about the hazards and joys of
modern times. Her lyrics are straightforward and simply poetic --
not a pretentious obscurity in the batch. Her singer's voice is
the natural extension of her writer's voice: beautifully clear,
sure and honest. And the music: the melodies are uncluttered and
gorgeous, played by a band of accomplished musicians who obviously
love what they do.
